Sebastião Salgado Workshop March 12, 2025 Zoom Workshop led by Becky Field and Michael Sterling It includes a video of the interview photographer Sebastião Ribeiro Salgado from his Lifteime Achievement Award from the International Center of Photography 38th Annual Infinity Awards. He spoke about his ”narrative approach” to portraiture. Much of his work could be described as “environmental portraiture” and delightfully, it works for professional & life style publications as well as family snapshots - practical and straightforward. This session wasn't his full workshop (they run 3 hours x 4 days), but you should can away with insights to invigorate your own work. ZOOM WORKSHOP - Jared Platt - Photobooks thru Adobe Lightroom Accomplished photographer & educator Jared Platt's tuitorial on building photo books and magazines from images in Lightroom Classic. Jared was known for sticking around as long as needed and this night he far exceeded his rep! ZOOM WORKSHOP - Artificial Intelligence Educator/architect/photographer Rick Hulbert thoughtfully describes what AI is and what it might mean to us photographers. 90 minutes chock full of fascinating facts and observations on the hottest topic in town, AI. IN PERSON WORKSHOP - Dry mount A terrific introduction to the art of using a dry mount press to make your images totally flat for the long term. Presented by professional photographer, framer and NHSPA President, Ian Raymond. IN PERSON WORKSHOP - Framing Images Another great presentation by Ian Raymond, photographer, framer and NHSPA president, Ian Raymond. Presented on the same day as his dry mount talk but with more bandaids. This one focuses on matting your work and framing it. This is important to understand, particularly if you'll be participating in any photography exhibits (like NHSPA's! ). ZOOM WORKSHOP - Travel Photography TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY - DAN GINGRAS & MICHAEL STERLINGTwo of our most seasoned travelers will bring you tips and strategies for sucessful travel photography. Be prepared to visit some amazing places but also learn about what gear they use and tactics they use to geat amazing images. ZOOM WORKSHOP - Photoshop DIGITAL TECHNIQUES IN PHOTOSHOP - DAVID MURRAY Portsmouth based professional photographer and NHSPA member, David Murray, is a multi-talented photographer working in both traditional and drone based work. In this session, he shares multiple techniques in both Photoshop and Lightroom. ZOOM WORKSHOP - Body of Work Dan Milnor, professional photographer and Blurb evangelist, joins us with a conversation on his own work. Surprisingly little discussion on making photo books, Dan inspires with a very real and open conversation of what makes his work work for him. His insights were very popular and the video is highly recommended. ZOOM WORKSHOP - Photoshop WORKING WITH PHOTOSHOP LAYERS - DAVID MURRAY Continuing his well liked discussions about digital techniques, David Murray focuses on the magic of Photoshop layers. This session generated multiple Q&As which was a tribute to the popularity of the subject. ZOOM WORKSHOP - Member Celebration BODY OF WORK - ROGER GOUN, ELLA CARLSON & GARY SAMSON Our first learning session on Long Term Projects. You see & hear Roger, Ella and Gary show and speak to projects they have been immersed in for years. Roger will talk about his key insights into doing such a project, Ella will cover multiple sets of her highly innovative image making and Gary will speak to his decades of mainly large format, portrait making.
