EXHIBIT RUNS THRU SEPTEMBER 30
Time: 3-5pm
Join us for the opening of a new exhibit in the Creamery Cafe showcasing the art of New Hampshire photographers Joe Reardon and Michael Sterling. Joe and Michael have been in regular attendance at the Village over the past several years, capturing the Shakers’ sense of style and simplicity of design in their photography of Village buildings and interiors. Whether a first-time visitor or a longstanding friend of the Village, you will be reminded of the beauty and wonder inherent to the landscapes of Canterbury Shaker Village.
Joe Reardon’s passion for photography began while in his teens when his dad presented him with a 35mm camera that he had won at a local tavern poker game. He pursued formal photography training as a military photographer in the U.S. Navy and graduated from the New England School of Photography. Joe is a juried artist at many New England galleries, including the Copley Society of Art, the NH Art Association, and the Southern New Hampshire Art Gallery.
Michael Sterling has been involved with photography from the time he received his first camera as a teenager. He studied photography at The New School and International Center for Photography, both in New York City, and the New Hampshire Institute of Art. He currently is President of the New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists and is a juried member of the New Hampshire Art Association. He has been a contributing photographer to Portsmouth Magazine, Square Magazine,The Sound, and PortsmouthNH.com.
