  Thursday, March 7^th, the Chapel Art Center will open its spring season with The Intimacy of Seeing, Elsa Voelcker - A Retrospective.   

   

  Elsa Voelcker is a longtime member of our Fine Arts department faculty, whose teaching and mentoring in the realm of film and digital photography has benefitted generations of students at Saint Anselm College. This retrospective includes over sixty works, spanning her entire career, and includes a selection of black and white and color prints, and some of her hand-made photography books. Her subject matter reflects a true artist’s interest in human life, in nature, and in cleverly abstracted looks resulting from her own lens-altered views.

   

  On Friday, March 22^nd, from 4-6pm the Chapel Art Center will host an Opening Reception, with the artist in attendance.

   

  Please join us to celebrate her accomplishments over these many years at Saint Anselm College, appreciating her collegiality and her tireless dedication to the arts here and in the region.

  Water is the essence of our planet and our lives. It takes many forms as it runs through our days: tears, ice, snow, steam, fog, clouds, and rain. Its energy manifests in ripples, currents, eddies, waves, tides, floods. Water can be reflective or transparent; it can carry us away or let us float. Water can carve its own course or show us the pattern of the wind. In these photographs and paintings, the artists invite us on their visual journey as they explore water in all of its guises.
